10 Verses For When You Need God To Provide For You
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19
How are you needing God to provide for you right now?
Are you needing Him to provide you with community? With strong Christian friendships? With people who can help you grow in your relationship with Him?
Are you needing Him to provide for you financially? Is money tighter than you’d like it to be? Did some unexpected costs come up and you feel like it’s going to take a miracle for you to have enough money to pay for everything?
Are you needing Him to provide for you directionally? Are you facing a big decision and you don’t know what to do? Are you trying to do the wise thing but you’re not sure which path you should take? Are you wishing God would give you a big neon sign, telling you which way to go?
Or are you needing Him to provide for you spiritually? Are you feeling empty inside? Is everything else you’re spending your time and energy on falling flat? Are you wishing He would fill you with a desire to be close to Him like you used to be, or like you’ve never been before?
The thing about being a human is that we aren’t as self-sufficient as we like to believe. We can’t always make everything happen the way we want it to happen. We can’t always make sure we’re fulfilled and provided for in our own power and our own strength. BUT…the good news about being a follower of Jesus is that we have a God who loves to provide for us. We serve a God who can meet all of our needs and can always come through. And we have a God we can depend on no matter what we’re walking through and what challenges or deficiencies we’re facing.
But that requires that we trust Him. It requires that we take Him at His word. And it requires that we believe He’s going to come through for us, even if we don’t see any progress or proof right away.
And let me tell you, that can be a lot easier said than done. But what I can also say with full confidence is that whenever I’ve put my full dependence on the Lord and trusted His ways and His timing, He’s never let me down. He’s never disappointed me. He’s always made sure I’ve been taken care of. And friend, I know He can do the same for you.
So, if you’re in a place looking for God to provide for you, I hope you’ll read through and meditate on these verses today. I pray these words will give you confidence in the God who loves you and watches out for you. And I hope that they will give you the assurance you’re looking for that He will take care of you and will always have your best interest at heart.
