10 Verses For When You’re Walking Into A New Season

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:18-19

It’s been just over a year since my husband and I packed up the U-Haul, loaded down our cars, and left our home state of Georgia to move to Kentucky. I’m not going to lie, I ugly cried quite a few times over the move at first. It wasn’t an easy decision. But at the same time, it was a decision that was blanketed in so much peace. I never thought I would feel so at ease about picking up and moving to another state, but I did.

That feeling of peace and comfort is important because walking into a season full of newness and change can be a really scary thing. Uncertainty can be intimidating and overwhelming, so any sense of peace you can hold onto feels like a refreshing cool breeze on a hot summer day.

Maybe you’re like me and you just moved to a new city or a new state and you feel totally out of your element. Maybe you’re starting at a new school this year, and just when you felt like you had your last school figured out, now everything is changing again. Maybe you just got out of a relationship and you’re figuring out what life looks like now that you’re single. Or maybe you just graduated college and you have absolutely no idea what the next season of your life looks like, and that terrifies you.

No matter what uncertainty you’re walking into, no matter what newness and change you’re facing, I hope you know that experiencing peace and comfort from Christ is possible. You don’t have to move forward overcome with anxiety and fear and decision paralysis. You don’t have to remain overwhelmed by the unknowns. There is hope to be found.

You can have confidence that the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. You can be sure that He is going to guide your steps. You can have peace knowing that He will not lead you astray. And you can rest knowing that He has a plan with your best interest in mind, and He wants nothing more than to see that plan come to fruition in your life.

But you can’t just pull that confidence and that peace and that comfort out of thin air. It doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. You have to seek those things from your relationship with Christ, and that means diving into His Word.

That being said, I’ve rounded up a handful of verses that can get you started as you strive to take hold of all that God has for you in this new season. I pray that you immerse yourself in Scripture and let these verses sink in so that you can experience the confidence, peace, comfort, assurance, and hope that is yours in Christ Jesus.
